Npower announces third price rise this year

Npower, Thursday, September 7th, 2006

Npower’s six million customers face higher bills from October ater the company announced a new round of price rises, the third this year.

From October 1st, gas prices will go up by 17.2% while electricity will be 9.9% more expensive.

This latest price increase follows two previous ones this year, in January and March, and the company ‘categorically’ states that there will be no more rises this year.

Npower froze its prices in 2005, and says that it always delays any rises as long as possible so that it is the last power company to put up bills, meaning its customers pay ‘lower prices for longer’.
